GAPS for Crohn’s & Colitis

I just came across a personal account of GAPS’ impact on a person with Crohn’s-Colitis. Read it here.

Tara, thanks so much for sharing your story with the world! I wish you all the best on your healing journey.

  1. I don’t have UC, but my mom does and she’s had it for years with no help from conventional medicine or doctors. In fact, they ran out of answers and just gave her shrugs and ABs. I think they hoped she’d just stop coming to them. Her agony about going to the doctor, when she was in horrible pain, was awful.

Anyway, she has also been chronically plagued with UTIs for years (now I know exactly why), and her latest flare made me suggest this diet for her. She was freaked about the “restrictions”, so I decided to go on the diet with her. Her UTI went away in about a week! Other disgestive problems seem to be reduced and she’s slowly getting better, I think. As for me: my rosacea is gone, and no more acid reflux! No pills, no facial creams…just the diet. And I can sleep on my stomach again, like I used to when I was a kid!

    • Wonderful news, Meg!! Thanks for sharing that with us. And how wonderful that you have been able to assist your mum by eating in solidarity with her. That’s what I did with my son, with surprising benefits to myself!

      All my best,
      Baden
